Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 27 December 2025
Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully. They explain how we work, how fees are handled, and what you can expect when you contact us or become a client. If you do not agree, please do not use this website or instruct us.
Note: If you become a client, you will also receive a separate engagement letter (and scope schedule) that confirms the services we will deliver for you. Where there is any conflict, the engagement letter takes priority.
1. Who we are
We are JJ & JJ Ltd trading as J3 Accountants (“we”, “us”, “our”). We are registered in England & Wales (Company No. 05656807).
Registered office: 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX
Contact: enquiries@j3accountants.co.uk
2. Using this website
- You must not misuse this website (including attempting to gain unauthorised access, introducing malware, or interfering with site performance).
- Website content is provided for general information only and is not a substitute for tailored professional advice.
- We may update or withdraw website content at any time without notice.
3. Enquiries and starting a client relationship
Submitting a website enquiry does not create a client relationship. We only act for you once:
- we confirm acceptance of your instructions in writing, and
- identity and compliance checks are satisfactorily completed (where required), and
- any required onboarding information and/or initial payment arrangements are in place.
We may decline instructions at our discretion (for example, if we cannot complete compliance checks, there is a conflict of interest, capacity constraints, or other reasons). No charge is made for a declined application unless we agree paid preliminary work in writing.
4. Services and scope
Your engagement letter defines what is included (and excluded). Typical services may include (where agreed):
- bookkeeping and accounting support
- statutory accounts preparation
- company tax returns (CT600)
- self assessment returns (for directors/individuals, where agreed)
- VAT returns (where agreed)
- PAYE support and payroll services (where agreed)
- Companies House filings (for example, confirmation statements, where agreed)
Out-of-scope work (for example, additional tax schedules, capital gains pages, property income pages, investigations, complex advisory, or urgent work) may attract additional fees. We will confirm this before proceeding.
5. Your responsibilities
- providing complete, accurate, and timely information and explanations
- maintaining adequate accounting records and keeping supporting documents
- reviewing drafts we provide (accounts, returns, submissions) and approving them before filing
- ensuring that filings and payments are made on time (we can assist, but legal responsibility remains with you)
- telling us promptly about changes (directors, addresses, VAT status, payroll changes, etc.)
If information is missing, late, or incorrect, deadlines may be missed and penalties or interest may arise. Where this occurs due to incomplete or late client information, you remain responsible for those penalties and interest.
6. Fees, VAT and payment terms
Our fees are set out on our website and/or in your engagement letter. Prices are in GBP.
VAT will be added to all fees published or quoted, unless explicitly stated otherwise.
- Monthly plans: payable in advance, typically by Direct Debit.
- Annual plans: payable upfront, unless agreed otherwise in writing.
- Additional work: payable within 14 days of invoice, unless otherwise agreed.
If a payment becomes overdue, we may pause work and/or suspend access to systems until the account is brought up to date. We are not responsible for missed deadlines during a period of non-payment or suspension.
7. Price Match Guarantee
If we offer a price match promotion, it applies only where the comparison is genuinely like-for-like in scope and service level. We may request evidence. Any price match terms will be confirmed in writing at the time of offer.
8. Anti-money laundering and identity checks
We are required to carry out identity and compliance checks under UK anti-money laundering legislation. You agree to provide the information and documents we reasonably request. We may use electronic verification methods.
9. Availability and timeframes
We aim to provide a reliable service, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability of systems, third-party software, email, or website functionality.
10. Ending the engagement
Either party may end the engagement in accordance with the engagement letter. Work completed up to the termination date remains payable.
11. Liability
We will provide services with reasonable skill and care. We are not responsible for losses arising from incomplete, inaccurate, misleading, or late information provided by you.
12. Data protection
We process personal data in accordance with UK data protection law. Please refer to our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
13. Records and document retention
We retain records in line with professional, legal and regulatory requirements.
14. Third parties and reliance
Our advice and deliverables are for your use only and must not be relied on by third parties without our written consent.
15. Applicable law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales. The courts of England & Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
